Between December 05th – 06th, 2019, for the first time in the Republic of Moldova, the National Sport Judo Federation for Persons with Disabilities from the Republic of Moldova in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova within the Specialized Judo Sports School "Oleg Cretul" from Chisinau city the Para-Judo Championship of the Republic of Moldova Senior (M) was organized and carried out. Although 7 athletes participated in this Championship, it is already a progress. A year ago, there was only one Paralympic judoka in our country.
If we’ll maintain this trend, soon we’ll have the opportunity to form a real strong team in all weight categories.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated internationally on 3 December. The aim is to support people with disabilities, to promote understanding of the problems they face, while mobilizing support for the rights, dignity and well-being of people with disabilities. Respecting this day, the aim is to raise awareness of the benefits that can result from the integration of people with disabilities (in social, cultural, etc.). People with disabilities have the same human rights as all other human beings.
In this context, we want to emphasize that in order to live in a better world, it is necessary to eliminate barriers to create an inclusive and accessible society for all.

On November 11th, 2019 the Honorary President of the National Sport Judo Federation for Persons with Disabilities from Republic of Moldova – Mr. Oleg Cretul and the First Vice President of the National Sport Judo Federation for Persons with Disabilities from Republic of Moldova - Mr. Vitalie Gligor participated in the important event “Unbeatable” in Azerbaijan city, at the personal invitation of Mr. Ilgar Rahimov – the President of the Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan. The main purpose of this event was to get attention to the problems of people with disabilities.

Following several negotiations, on October 7th, 2019, a very important event took place for our federation - the Cooperation Agreement was signed between the National Sport Judo Federation for Persons with Disabilities from the Republic of Moldova and the Yamagata Prefecture of Tsuruoka (Japan). According to this Agreement, Tsuruoka City Hall will provide the opportunity for the members of the National Sport Judo Federation for Persons with Disabilities from the Republic of Moldova to participate in the camps that will take place in Tsuruoka, which means a very important preparation phase for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of Japan in the Republic of Moldova - Mr. Masanobu Yoshii and the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Japan - Mr. Vasile Bumacov.
In the future we hope to expand the collaboration relations with external partners.

Between 23-24.09.2019, the National Para-Judo Team (Oleg Cretul – athlete , Paralympic champion; Vitalie Gligor - head coach) participated in the IBSA Judo Grand Prix, which took place in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Athlete Oleg Cretul ranked seventh in the weight category - 90kg. Accumulating 90 points, the athlete Oleg Creţul ranked 4th in the World Ranking.

According to the requirements of the Unique Sports Classification of the Republic of Moldova for the years 2018-2021 and by Order of the Minister of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the head coach of the Paralympic national judo team - Mr. Vitalie Gligor was awarded the title of "Merited Coach of the Republic of Moldova" .
On this occasion, the Federation addresses him sincere congratulations, good wishes and success at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Between 23-29.07 2019, the National Para-Judo Team (Oleg Creţul-sportsman, Paralympic champion; Ion Basoc-sportsman; Vitalie Gligor-head coach; Denis Țurcan-second coach) participated in the European Judo Championship IBSA, which held in the Genoa (Italy). Athlete Oleg Cretul ranked/placed seventh in the weight category - 90kg. Accumulating 90 points, the athlete Oleg Cretul ranked 4th in the IBSA World Ranking.

Between 30.06-05.07 2019, the National Para-Judo Team (Oleg Cretul - athlete, Paralympic champion; Ion Basoc - athlete; Vitalie Gligor – head coach) participated in the IBSA Judo International Qualifier, which took place in Fort Wayne (USA). The event was part of the qualification process for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Athlete Oleg Cretul ranked 5th in the weight category - 90kg.

Between June 10-18, 2019, the National Para-Judo Team (Oleg Cretul - athlete, Paralympic champion; Vitalie Gligor – head coach; Turcan Denis –coach) participates in the Olympic Training Camp Going for Gold, or. Porec (Croatia). This training camp is part of the most important process of preparation for the IBSA Judo European Championships 2019.

Congratulations to the national para-judo team for the successful evolution within the international competition IBSA Judo Grand Prix, which took place in Baku (Azerbaijan), in the period May 11-15, 2019. Athlete Oleg Cretul ranked 5th, athlete Ion Basoc ranked 18th. In the world ranking list Oleg Cretul ranks 5th.
